Who ever said destination weddings needed to be on tropical beaches?! Not this girl. I cannot rave enough about this wedding. Mariah and Regan are from the Council Bluffs, Iowa area and decided to get married in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They chose Steamboat because it’s been a beautiful place that they’ve vacationed for a long time as a couple and with family. It made sense to them. It made sense to me…because it was beautiful! I can’t even count the amount of times that Janine and I gasped, “THIS IS GORGEOUS”! So it was a treat, indeed.
I have known Regan and Mariah for years and I feel completely blessed and honored that I got to document their day. These two are such a FUN, genuine couple, and watching them grow together and documenting their love has been nothing short of wonderful. What an emotional and fun day this was. Regan and Mariah’s family and closest friends attended their beautiful ceremony at the Catamount Ranch and Club. They chose their music carefully (props to Dane, their personal iPod DJ), they had a family member marry them, they had toasts that made tears fly from every corner of the room. It was perfect. Mariah’s garter was made with elements from her late father’s ties; and instead of doing a unity candle or sand ceremony, Regan and Mariah made up their own “dirt ceremony”…mason jars filled with the dirt of their childhood homes combined together with dirt from Steamboat Springs. Personal touches. They really made their day special.
Regan and Mariah…thank you for hosting such a beautiful day and making Janine and I feel completely special photographing your day. I’m thinking vow renewals every few years.
