It turns out, that I am getting old. I photographed not only Emilio’s senior photos, but his brother’s as well! I fall in love with my families when I photograph them, and being asked to shoot this wedding was an honor. Their family had lost their mother recently and I was so thankful that I had gotten to know her. Throughout the day, it was so obvious to me that she was present and I could easily pick up on the moments when she was wrapping them all up.
Also- it rained. All day. Hard. This could’ve put a huge damper in their rediculously fun outdoor wedding. Not these guys! When I showed up, there wasn’t even a mention that is was raining. They summed it up perfectly in their toast that it didn’t matter to them if it was sunny or raining- they just wanted all their loved ones together to have a great time.
If that was the goal, then they had a perfect wedding. There was so much love. . . and so much fun.
They danced in the mud, got soaking wet, destroyed their shoes and clothes, . . . and then Elvis showed up as a surprise from the bride to the groom. If you can’t have fun on your wedding day- when can you?! Their eclectic wedding theme of Star Wars, Harry Potter and Shark Week was a riot and will leave their guests with so many great memories.
Emilio and Maggie- your wedding made my heart swell up with love. Thanks for having me along for the ride!
