I have had 3 phone conversations with clients this season that have started with “Well…we have some news!”…and I never quite know what that’ll mean any more…which has turned into some really fun news! For Amanda and Ben, it meant that they hopped a plane and eloped in Vegas about a month before their set date in Iowa. You know what we love? People who are so in love, and so excited to get married, that they just can’t wait any more. Truly. Love is exciting…and sometimes you wing it…say to hell with it…and just go get married.
Amanda and Ben had their Iowa celebration on a Sunday afternoon at the beautiful Barnes’ Place just outside of Des Moines, Iowa in Adel. This place is GORGEOUS. The grounds…the barn…the pond…the “Reserved for Photographer” parking spot. You read that right. We had a reserved parking spot. I digress…
Their closest family and friends surrounded them as they had a lovely blessing ceremony overlooking a pond. Ben is an avid fisherman, so the two of them walked down to the pond near the end of their blessing, and threw out their “first cast” together as a couple. It was a great moment that meant a lot to them. After the blessing there was a nice lunch, tearful toasts, and so much surprise swing dancing. Have I ever mentioned how much I love country swing dancing? It’s so fun to watch, and I wish I could do it myself.
Amanda and Ben…congratulations on your marriage! I hope life continues to bring you fun impulses, adventures a-plenty, and lots of laughs!
